Melanie Fiorillo

My journey began with an early interest in studying nutrition and fitness when I was 10 years old. I became interested in the anatomy and physiology of the human body in my early teens. As a competitive athlete in my teen years, I became a nutrition consultant and personal trainer at the age of 16 years and a nationally recognized competitive bodybuilder at the age of 17 years. I was intrigued to learn the pathology of diseases around this time and began to view the conventional understanding of pathologies with other possible causations. I found making lifestyle changes while using certain vitamins, enzymes and herbs started changing the dynamics (if not curative) of certain illnesses people were experiencing.

I continued my journey by having 2 beautiful children and used my nutritional knowledge and experience to help with raising them. My son was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 12 years old. In using the practices mentioned above, he went on to be an NCAA swimmer in college. He is now 27 years old, healthy, and leads a fully functional life without pharmaceutical medication.

I learned that this profession as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor existed in 2004 while I was training in Emergency Management to become a Firefighter and Paramedic. I continued as a firefighter/Paramedic in the Detroit, Michigan area for 8 years. During this time, I was not only appreciative of my life each day; I was also able to help people on their worst day and to also appreciate the use of pharmaceutical medications. I left the profession to pursue Naturopathic Medical School here in Arizona.

Now, when I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and traveling.

I am grateful to offer my services in Women’s Health at WVNC with additional pain management training and services in Quantum Neurology that focuses on neurological rehabilitation; Applied Kinesiology, that addresses the Chemical, Structural and Emotional areas in finding the root cause of the illness or injury and Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) that works with the mind-body connection with emotions, illness or injury.

I’ll look forward to meeting you!
